Eastbound CSX Transportation Co West 16th Street industrial switching local. Cicero Illinois USA. Early April 2007.

I took this photo after work in early April of 2007. The elusive CSX local that services the industries along West 16th Street in the village of Cicero Illinois, is seen approaching the railroad crossing on South Cicero Avenue, with the locomotive bell ringing and the airhorn blowing.
Just ahead of Me in traffic, is an unmarked plain Cicero police car.

Hi Eddy,

I like your railroad blog.

Thanks for including the picture of the CSX Train at 16th in Cicero.

That's two block from my home.

The North East Corner of Cicero, also known as the Grant Works Neighborhood is a unique area. We have six commercial streets in four square block, and yes, our own railroad.

I think this is one of the greatest old urban neighborhoods ever developed.

Thanks again for visiting us.

Take Care!
