Westbound Chicago Transit Authority Route # 62 Archer / Harlem Avenue bus crossing the Belt Railway of Chicago. Chicago Illinois USA. March 2008.

I took this photo after work one day last week. Seen here stopping at the Archer Avenue railroad crossing near Midway Airport, is a CTA Nova transit coach enroute to the west terminal at Archer and Neva Avenues. This railroad line is the Belt Railway of Chicago, and the frequent lenghty transfer trains cause numerous traffic delays here on Archer Avenue, as well as on West 55th Street, 59th, 63rd, and 67th Streets. In the background, a crew from the city of Chicago department of public works, are busy repairing damaged street sections due to severe winter weather conditions in 2008.
