Sometimes, it just seems that nothing can be more magical than a summer night on an amusement park midway. The lights of the Ferris Wheel, Scrambler, and other rides help to bring back happy amusement park memorys of Chicagoland summers past. Chicago Illinois once had a large amusement park known as Riverview Park, located on North western Avenue near West Belmont Avenue, but that closed for good in 1967. There were once several little outlying amusement parks like Adventureland in Addison Illinois, Playland Park in Justice Illinois, and Fairyland in Lyons Illinois.
These parks all vanished before the 1970's had ended. Kiddieland is the last of it's kind surviving today in the Greater Chicagoland Area.
