An old photo of the original Home Run Inn Pizza tavern and restaurant on West 31st Street in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood. Chicago Illinois.

Hi everybody!
Welcome aboard Eddie's Railfan Page from the city of Chicago Illinois.
I took this photo inside the Home Run Inn Pizzeria restaurant at 6221 South Archer Avenue, in Chicago's Garfield Ridge neighborhood near Midway Airport. Seen here on one of the restaurant's interior walls, is an old photograph of the original Home Rin Inn Pizzeria. This origianl Home Run Inn Pizzeria and Tavern was located at the northeast corner of West 31st Street and South Kilbourn Avenue, in Chicago's Little Village neighborhood.

I actually ate here at this original and very quaint location as a little kid with My family, during the 1960's and early 1970's. I recall early on that they had a very booming pizza business back then. They were constantly pumping them out! I recall that they had a unique system of placing the order tickets to the pizza cooks, utilizing a Clothes line with pullys and clothes pins to hold the tickets. They were constantly zipping back and forth on every visit!

They were so sucsessful with their pizza business at this location, that the old neighborhood tavern building was inadequate, and was demolished by about 1975. The old building was replaced by a big modern two story restaurant building with banquet rooms, that is still in business today at the original location on West 31st Street.

Many years later with several franchise locations and a commercial grocery store frozen pizza business, It is still the same great tasting Chicago Style Pizza I grew up with on Chicago's southwest side.
