The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club. Oak Park Illinois USA. May 2011.

I took this photo during a Wednsday night operating session, at the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

I don't care what those non hobbiest critics have to say..."Model Railroad Clubs Are Absolutely Great!"

Check out this unusual locomotive double header leading the H.O Scale commuter train!

Fellow club member Rich, has lashed up his Metra EMD F 40PH, to what would normally be a long gone Chicago, Burlington & Quincy 1950's era EMD E 7 passenger locomotive.

Both types of locomotives had pulled commuter trains from Chicago Illinois, but never at the same point in history. Except for one lone Pennsylvania Railroad EMD E 7 at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania in the town of Strasburg PA, no other EMD E 7's were preserved.

Rich's Burlington EMD E 7, is also sound equipped. Really nice!

Where else but at a model railroad club, can You find a unique locomotive combination like this on a Chicago commuter train?

Nice going Rich!

Thanks.
Eddie K.
