I took this photo during an early December 1983 visit, to the recently closed Grand Trunk Western Railroad's Elsdon Yard site on West 51st Street in Chicago Illinois.
With the Chicago city skyline in the background on this typical overcast december day, GTW locomotives are seen idling just immediately north of West 51st Street near South Lawndale Avenue.
This tiny remnant of Elsdon Yard, would remain a locomotive crew terminal until September of 1986.
