The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale model railroad club. Oak Park Illinois USA. March 2011.

I took this photo during a recent March 2011 visit to The Oak Park Society of Model Engineers H.O Scale Model Railroad Club.

Begining around 1967, the former Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad began to paint some of their box cars, cabooses and freight equipment, in big bright bold colors.

I use to see Santa Fe box cars like this model of a 40 foot car, wearing this color scheme with the large Santa Fe logo during the 1970's and 80's.

These cars were a common site back then at the Atchinson, Topeka & Santa Fe Corwith Yard facility in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood.
