I took this photograph way back in May of 1990.
I was enjoying a pleasant springtime afternoon under sunny skies and mild temperatures at Hayford Junction in Chicago's shburn neighborhood. It was perfect weather that day, to go out on location to enjoy some lineside railfanning with my camera in hand.
A westbound empty container train heading to the nearby Belt Railway of Chicago Clearing Yard, meets an eastbound Soo Line freight train departing from the same yard.
