I took this photograph on an incredibally mild December morning, back in 2006.
With an outside high temperature reading heading for the low 50's on this day, I stopped in west suburban Brookfield Illinois to take some lineside railfan photographs.
A westbound Metra local commuter train enroute to Aurora Illinois, is viewed arriving at the Brookfield Metra commuter rail station on Prairie Avenue, in Brookfield Illinois.
That tall condominium / apartment building to the left of the photo, had replaced a row of old storefront buildings along the north side of Brookfield Avenue in recent years.
